Behind the Scenes: Quality Control Process

Zampell’s quality control process ensures every product and installation meets our strict standards for performance, safety and traceability. We combine principled workplace safety with rigorous quality checks across manufacturing and site operations. This page explains how we control quality from supplier selection to handover and how those controls protect your plant and people.

Quality starts with people and governance

We operate to ISO 9001 quality management standards and maintain ISO 45001 for health and safety. Our management team sets measurable quality objectives. Supervisors and trained operatives deliver the processes on the ground. Regular internal audits check compliance and drive improvements.

Supplier and material control

We qualify suppliers before we buy. We check certifications, material data sheets, and production standards. Incoming materials undergo inspection and batch logging. Where applicable, we record batch, lot or heat numbers for full traceability. This reduces variations and protects final product performance.

Controlled manufacturing processes

Manufacture follows documented work instructions and agreed inspection points. Our kiln, drying and carpentry shops operate to calibrated procedures. PLC-controlled drying and firing cycles record data for each batch. These controls ensure repeatable thermal processes and consistent component quality.

Inspection, testing and validation

We apply inspection and testing at key stages:

  • Visual and dimensional checks during production.
  • Mechanical or thermal tests where required.
  • Non-destructive testing for critical components.
  • Hold points before release to dispatch.

Every check is recorded. Any non-conformance triggers a documented corrective action so we can resolve the cause and prevent recurrence.

Site quality assurance

On site we follow the same disciplined approach. Project-specific quality plans define hold points, inspection routines and acceptance criteria. Supervisors complete job previews and risk assessments with operatives before work starts. We carry out internal site audits and produce full handover documentation on completion.

Data, traceability and documentation

We capture process data from manufacturing, inspections and site tests. Batch histories, kiln logs and inspection records form a full audit trail. Controlled drawing and change procedures ensure teams use only approved technical information. This documentation supports warranty claims, client audits and regulatory checks.

Competence, calibration and continuous improvement

We invest in training for operatives, supervisors and engineers. Competence assessments ensure teams use correct techniques and follow quality routines. All measuring and process equipment undergoes scheduled calibration. Management reviews audit outcomes and key performance indicators to identify improvement actions.

Safety and quality working together

Quality and safety reinforce one another. Our ASK programme focuses teams at shift start through site safety analysis, toolbox talks and pre-shift stretches. The same culture of engagement and accountability underpins quality checks on every task. Achieving ISO 45001 and RoSPA recognition reflects how safety and quality combine across our operations.

How this benefits you

  • Predictable product performance and fewer unplanned shutdowns.
  • Faster, cleaner installations with clear QA checkpoints.
  • Full traceability and documentary evidence for audits or tenders.
  • Reduced lifecycle cost through fewer failures and longer lining life.
